Hattori Racing Has
Another Strong Showing
at Michigan
Brooklyn, MI (06-17-2008) - Rain pushed back the ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Michigan International Speedway from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning. The delay did nothing to hamper the no. 01 AISIN AW Camry team's spirits or efforts. Sean Caisse, driving for Hattori Racing Enterprises, started seventh in the 41-car field. Caisse steadily moved through the field, getting to the front by lap 31 and leading twice for 51 of the 100 laps of the Racing for Wildlife 200.
"At Michigan, Mike Abner and the HRE team ran a great race. The AISIN AW Camry qualified seventh, driver Sean Caisse led the most laps. The team and driver were very competitive and we just needed a little bit of luck to get a good finish at Michigan. Unfortunately, we had a tire go flat so we finished 19th," said team owner Shigeaki Hattori.
HRE driver Caisse enjoyed learning the Brooklyn, MI, race track and said the AISIN AW Camry was great to race.
"I'm really, really proud of this HRE race team. You are only as good as the people and equipment surrounding you and the AISIN AW Camry was an awesome race car this weekend. We didn't get the finish that we worked for, but we showed everyone how competitive this race team is," said Caisse, who finished 19th. "I'm very proud of these guys and I look forward to getting to Kentucky to race with these guys again."
Caisse surrendered the race lead with 11 laps to go when the left rear tire of the AISIN AW Camry went flat. After the trip to pit road under the green flag, Caisse returned to the race track one lap down to the leaders; he finished 19th.
"HRE was formed with sponsors AISIN, AISIN AW and Advics to give young, developing race car drivers the opportunity to race in good equipment, with a good racing team. HRE has been very good in each of the three ARCA races we have entered. We look forward to continuing this and and getting stronger finishes and wins for our young drivers," said Hattori.
In three races this season, HRE has each time made its presence known. HRE has qualified no worse than seventh and has earned one SIM Factory Pole Award. HRE drivers have led 58 laps.
"With the quality of equipment Hattori Racing Enterprises is bringing to the race track and as competitive as we have been able to run, it's going to happen. We will get the win, we'll collect the top-five finishes and we will continue leading laps and running smart, competitive races," said Caisse.
HRE is scheduled to race again in the ARCA RE/MAX Series on July 18th at Kentucky Speedway. For more information on joining the sponsorship lineup at Hattori Racing Enterprises, contact:
